Kick off 2026 with Mesilla Valley Jazz and Blues Society and the David Borrego Quartet

As 2026 draws nearer, the Mesilla Valley Jazz and Blues Society is already preparing for a new year packed with jazzy performances and opportunities to jam. The MVJBS calendar kicks off on Jan. 18 with a favorite of the society, the David Borrego Quartet, for the first monthly meeting of the year. The group includes David Borrego on guitar, Ricky Malichi on drums, and Hector Olea on upright bass. Audiences can catch the group performing throughout Las Cruces and El Paso, charming audiences with a mix of jazz standards and original compositions. All three musicians are involved in music education, and can also be found performing in their own groups and various other ensembles around the borderland.

Admission for the society’s monthly meetings is $5 for MVJBS members and $10 for non-members. Ticketing information is…
